Implementing and evaluating a school-based intervention together with school staff to promote healthy behavior in adolescents: a co-creation approach

Bio:

Janneke de Boer obtained a bachelor degree in European Public Health as well as Health Sciences both from Maastricht University. In addition, she obtained a master degree in Social and Organisational Psychology from Utrecht University. This combination of studies shows her interests in topics related to human behaviour and public health. Before Janneke joined the Health CASCADE project as an Early Stage Researcher at Ghent University, she fulfilled various HRM roles within different companies.

As an inquisitive and impact-driven individual, I am motivated to work for society’s good. That is why I am happy to be a part of the Health CASCADE project. This project gives me the opportunity to develop interventions with the use of co-creation to improve health related behaviour. By using co-creation, I am able to work alongside other stakeholders that results in a connection between science and society. I believe that this connection is important to accomplish behaviour change and prevent future health issues. Since this project maintains a European scope, I have the ability to see different perspectives on the prevention of health issues. In addition, I am able to work with researchers, non-academic partners and industry partners from all over Europe. This is the perfect environment to share my knowledge and learn from theirs.
