Aims & Actions

We focus on co-creation in the school setting, more specifically on the development, implementation, and evaluation of an intervention to promote healthy sleeping behavior in adolescents. Janneke (ESR7) and Lea (ESR8) are leading this team. While they work closely together, there are two main foci which can be distinguished. One focus is the development, and more specifically scaling up, of an existing intervention to promote healthy sleep in adolescents using a shortened co-creation process. This mainly involves collaboration with the target group itself (the adolescents). The other focus lies on the involvement of school staff in the implementation of the intervention, as this has been established to be important for the sustainability of school-based interventions. Professor at the Department of Movement and Sport Sciences (research unit Physical Activity and Health) focusing on the development of behavioural interventions in children and adolescents and on healthy aging.

Professor at the Department of Public Health and Primary Care (research unit Health Promotion), focusing on individual and environmental determinants of health behaviour and the development of health promotion interventions using the Intervention Mapping Protocol and/or a participatory approach.

Simon Hunter

PROFESSOR

Simon C. Hunter is a Professor of Applied Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University and Adjunct Professor at the University of Western Australia. His areas of study include the experiences of youth with regard to peer-victimization, violence and bullying, young people’s electronic screen-use, and mental health stigma. He is part of the supervisory board of Lea R. Delfmann (WP3), investigating how to promote adolescents’ healthy sleeping behavior.
