PhD Topic:

Co-creation of lifestyle interventions in the workplace

Bio:

My name is Mira and I am a 22-year-old from Belgium with a great interest in preventive healthcare. I have a bachelor’s degree in Health and Lifestyle Sciences and followed this up with a master’s degree in Sociology at the University of Ghent. In my degree, Health and Lifestyle sciences, there was a great focus on health promotion in the workplace. Apart from being trained to coach people and groups towards a healthier lifestyle, we also learned how to coach organizations in making the health of their employees a priority and how they can go about improving this. In my master’s degree, I gained many insights into qualitative and quantitative research and I wish to combine these in order to do further research regarding preventive healthcare. I am very social and open-minded. I love travelling and have previously spent a part of my studies in Seoul, South Korea of which I have wonderful memories. I am very curious to meet all the new people and partners I will collaborate with and to explore the city of Glasgow.

I feel very honored to be a part of the Health CASCADE project. After my studies in Health and Lifestyle sciences and in Sociology, I am eager for the next step in my career where I continue my passion for research and preventive health care. To do this in a new city and in collaboration with people all over Europe is immensely exciting. The Health CASCADE project is absolutely in line with what I desire to do, which is working with people and communities towards interventions and solutions on health challenges, rather than on a community. It is a project that brings young like-minded people together with the same goal, to tackle global health challenges and secure Co-creation as an effective tool to fight these. A goal that I am very pleased to have the opportunity to work towards.
