PhD Topic:

What are the emotional and psychological effects of participating in co-creation?

Bio:

Lauren has completed a BSc in Psychology from Dublin City University and will be graduating in 2021 with an MSc in Clinical Health Psychology from Queen’s University Belfast. Both of her research dissertations were in health psychology. She is especially interested in mental and physical health and fitness, and human behaviour. Lauren has experience working in both clinical and research settings, having worked as a neurofeedback technician at Actualise Clinic, Dublin and as a research assistant on a Dublin City University project investigating the relationship between ecological concern and mental health. As well as being active with her local running club, she has worked with and coached gaelic football teams at juvenile club level and at university.

Lauren is delighted to be part of the Health Cascade project involving a multidisciplinary team to co-create effective solutions to complex public health problems. She is particularly interested in investigating physical activity and sedentary behaviours and their relationship with mental and physical health. She is excited to be a part of promoting public health in this area. Lauren highly values the application of co-creation methods and the use of participatory research to improve the way lifestyle interventions are delivered and to inform best practise and policy to improve public health.
