YoCo (Youth Co-creation)

YoCo is a doctoral research project envisioning feasible and sustainable youth-centred urban design solutions promoting adolescent health and well-being. We apply inclusive research methods with a systems thinking approach, directly involving adolescents aged 11-17 as co-creators in context-based urban planning processes. With a team of academic researchers, local youth, municipal urban designers and community partners, YoCo aims to empower youth to co-create physically and socially activating urban spaces. YoCo will also evaluate the co-creation processes and outcomes relating to adolescents’ health and well-being.
