Aims & Actions
The Health CASCADE Community team aims to co-create physically- and socially activating public spaces that promote adolescent health and well-being. The project, abbreviated as YoCo (Youth Co-creation), follows an interdisciplinary approach with key intersections between ‘urban design for health’, spatial planning, inclusive research and systems thinking. YoCo aims to bring together community youth, academic researchers, the Amsterdam Municipality, and local stakeholders in this co-creative collaboration. Iterative and complementary evaluations will be conducted to evaluate the co-creative process (led by Kunshan – ESR 15), and the effects on adolescents’ physical activity and well-being (led by Sara – ESR 14). University Research Chair Professor and chair of the Child and Adolescent Public Health research group. Her main research topic is physical activity and sedentary behaviour epidemiology in young people with a specific focus on innovations in research methodology.

Assistant professor with ample expertise in research related to child physical activity and sedentary behaviour, applying different methodologies such as experimental research and co-creation.

PROFESSOR
Professor at the Department of Movement and Sport Sciences (research unit Physical Activity and Health) focusing on the development of behavioural interventions in children and adolescents and on healthy aging.
Artur Steiner
Professor
Artur Steiner is a Professor in Social Entrepreneurship and Community Development. He leads the Community, Citizenship and Participation Research Group at the Yunus Centre, Glasgow Caledonian University. His research is about community disadvantage and actions to ameliorate isolation and, through co-production and participation, raise resilience and empowerment. Artur’s work is concerned with evidencing how, through social innovation, entities, policies and interventions tackle social inequalities and vulnerability including geographical disadvantage and frailty of specific groups in the society. His research outputs span multiple disciplines, chiefly entrepreneurship, rural development, public policy and health-related social sciences. Picture attached.
