Parc Sanitari Pere Virgili (PSPV) is the largest public, non-profit provider of geriatric rehabilitation, onco-geriatrics, and palliative care in Catalonia, Spain (365 hospital beds plus outpatients, home-based, and community-based care). As a teaching facility is linked to the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and its interdisciplinary research group – the research group on Aging, Frailty, and Transitions to Barcelona (REFiT Bcn) – was accredited by the Catalan Agency for Research and University and is part of the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), a top research institution in Spain.

Marco Inzitari, MD, PhD, is the Director of Integrated Care and Research of Parc Sanitari Pere Virgili, in Barcelona, an Associate Professor of Aging at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and the head of the RE-FiT Barcelona group at Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR).
