How to Co-Create in the Real World: Danielle’s Secondment to Waag Futurelab

The question of “Why research co-creation when it’s been used for decades?” is a familiar inquiry in co-creation circles. In response, our PhD Fellow, Danielle Agnello, embarks on a valuable secondment, collaborating with the innovative minds at Waag Futurelab in Amsterdam. Danielle is leading a mixed-methods study, delving into the practical applications of co-creation in the ‘real world.’ During her time in Amsterdam, she co-designed and facilitated three participatory workshops with the Waag Futurelab team to investigate how they use co-creation and make decisions about methods. Her research aims to distill essential insights that can guide practitioners and enthusiasts alike. By exploring the nuances and complexities of co-creation in diverse settings, Danielle seeks to contribute nuanced lessons that go beyond the theoretical, enriching the broader discourse and deepening our understanding of how co-creation continues to evolve and shape collaborative practices. Stay tuned for the outcomes of this interesting research, and you can also see some key reflections on Waag’s presentation to Health CASCADE here: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/daniellemagnello_methods-publicresearch-cocreate-activity-7140722452363386880-p7_c?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop
