In fall 2022, Janneke and Lea started with their co-creation sessions in the school context.
They aim to scale an existing intervention to promote healthy sleep in adolescents and are doing sessions with multiple stakeholders, namely students, school staff, and parents. Co-creation sessions will be held until the end of February with the ultimate goal to implement the adapted intervention at school.
Altogether they learned that co-creation can on the one hand be a very stressful, nerve-racking and time-consuming experience. On the other hand, multiple rewarding experiences clearly outweigh these downsides. For example, they learned a lot not only due to the co-researchers input on the content, including different perspectives. Moreover, a lot of valuable interpersonal relationships were built. Even though the kids they are working with did not know each other from the beginning, Janneke and Lea have the feeling that they managed to establish a good bond between them, which maybe even helped to foster new friendships.
