Health CASCADE is supporting co-creation research in the intersecting fields of obstetrics, patient safety and digital health tools in the form of the TeamBaby online training tool. The TeamBaby digital health tool is free-to-use and provides tips and strategies for working effectively with health care workers to achieve a safe birth. There are ten lessons that focus on safe communication; and cover things like how expectant parents can make sure they are heard, and how to prepare for consultations with midwives and obstetricians.
Health CASCADE will build on the collaborative effort, from the TeamBaby project, to develop the online training tool. The TeamBaby training tool is the result of a three year partnership between psychologists, obstetric clinics, and a patient safety organisation, who set out to improve the quality of care in obstetrics. Our Health CASCADE contingent from Constructor University (based in Bremen, Germany) have been exploring the use of stakeholder and user involvement in developing the digital health tool, providing support to evaluating the impact of user involvement and guiding the design of future workshops to further iterate it.
Health CASCADE is currently funding, and providing methodological support to iterating the TeamBaby training tool for expectant parents. The tool is available in both English and German. The tool will be live till the end of March 2023. However, we would like to continue and improve the content and functionality beyond this time. To do so, we need more expectant parents using the tool, and providing feedback through our website.
