Health CASCADE goes to ISBNPA 2022!

From left to right: Maria, Maite, Lea, Janneke and Teatske at ISBNPA 2022.

Earlier this year, five Health CASCADE researchers were present at the ISBNPA 2022 conference in Phoenix, USA. Janneke de Boer presented her work on evaluating participatory approaches in school-based interventions that promoted healthy sleep in adolescents. Whilst Lea Delfmann presented her work on the determinants of changes in adolescent sleep behaviour over time. Janneke de Boer even received the Best Oral Presentation award within the Special Interest Group Participatory Research in Health Promotion!

We also organized a Dare2Share session about participatory research, in which Prof. Dr. Maïté Verloigne and other attendants pleaded against participatory research (not really of course 😉), Dr. Teatske Altenburg and others pleaded in favour of participatory research and Dr. Maria Giné-Garriga judged about who won the case. It was an interesting discussion with a lot of enthusiastic researchers, and… it was a lot of fun!

Also, we met wonderful colleagues from the H2020 SEEDS (Science Engagement to Empower Disadvantaged adoleScents) project with whom we will definitely stay in contact to further exchange knowledge and experiences.

It was so nice having this conference live again, so Health CASCADE will definitely be present again next year. See you again in 2023, ISBNPA!
